We’re Hiring! Food Pantry Coordinators Wanted (Part-Time)

Are you passionate about building community, helping neighbors, and organizing for good? Do you thrive in roles where every day feels like an opportunity to make a difference? Then we’ve got the perfect spot for you at the Newmarket Community Church Food Pantry.

We’re looking for TWO part-time Food Pantry Coordinators to join our dynamic team:

  1. Volunteer Management Coordinator (VMC): The people-person who loves recruiting, training, and inspiring volunteers while keeping shifts running like clockwork.

  2. Operations Coordinator (OC): The behind-the-scenes organizer who keeps our shelves stocked, spaces organized, and systems humming along smoothly.

Think you can handle both? Great! We’re open to combining these roles into one full-time position for the right candidate.

The Basics

Volunteer Management Coordinator (VMC)

You’ll be the go-to person for all things volunteer-related, including:

  • Recruiting, training, and scheduling our amazing volunteers.

  • Keeping morale high and fostering a team-oriented culture.

  • Coordinating staffing for deliveries and pickups.

  • Recognizing and encouraging volunteers to grow in leadership.

Operations Coordinator (OC)

You’ll be the mastermind behind pantry logistics, including:

  • Coordinating weekly food distribution to create a welcoming shopping experience.

  • Managing inventory and ensuring food safety standards.

  • Building partnerships with local food donors and community resources.

  • Monitoring supplies and making sure we’re always ready for pantry day.

The Coordinators will be trained to cover all pantry operations in the absence of the other.

What We’re Looking For

Whether you’re interested in one role or both, here are some key traits we’d love to see:

  • A team player who loves working with people and making an impact.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and ready to handle a fast-paced environment.

  • A welcoming, inclusive, and compassionate attitude for serving our diverse community.

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves—literally. (You’ll need to be able to lift up to 40 pounds!)

  • Pantry and volunteer management experience is a huge plus!

  • Education beyond high school is preferred.

The Details

  • Hours: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week per role. Full-time if the roles are combined.

  • Pay: $18–$22 per hour, based on experience.
