Please let me introduce myself. I am Dean Pratt, a servant leader in the United Methodist Church for over 25 years. I am married to my amazing wife Elaine and we will celebrate our 41st anniversary on June 21! I have two sons Eric and Neil, who work and live in Boston. I enjoy mission and community service work such as Habitat for Humanity, volunteer crisis counseling, grief counseling, Family Promise, and food pantry coordination. I have been a cubmaster, scoutmaster, soccer coach, basketball coach, lifeguard, and swim instructor. In church work, I have been head of Evangelism, Christian Education, Facilities, Deacons, Finance, Stewardship, Council, Choir, youth group, and Vacation Bible School. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, playing the piano, playing the guitar, gardening, and teaching kids how to swim. Ministry is my second career since I took early retirement from management consulting. My previous education includes a M.B.A. in Finance and a M.S. in Information Systems. I am currently working on my Masters in Counseling.I am honored to be appointed half-time as the new pastor of First United Methodist Church Manchester as of July 1, 2021. This will be part of my assignment to be ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church. I have completed my Master of Divinity at Drew School of Theology and local licensed pastor training school and therefore I have been appointed by the bishop to this church. My wife, Elaine and I will continue to keep our membership in the Newmarket Community Church. Elaine will continue to attend and serve as worship coordinator at the Newmarket Community Church as part of her process of becoming a Certified Lay Minister. I love church and ministry work and hope that we can forge a partnership to share the good news of Jesus Christ to all we meet.
