The goal of the church school program is to provide children and teens with a curriculum focusing on Jesus’ message of love. We help children understand the stories of the Bible and how Christians are called to live in community with others, care for the created world, and work for peace and justice. Church school classes are offered from September to June each Sunday except the first Sunday of the month. Sunday mornings include everyone in worship in the sanctuary. Children and youth move into church school classes after the children’s message. Parents and guardians pick them up after worship concludes.
We the Youth
Community “We The Youth” events occur three times a year. These are ecumenical, experiential activities focused on social justice concerns. NCC youth is invited to join with youth from other churches in the Seacoast area to learn about issues such as poverty, hunger, refugees, etc. These events are open to all Newmarket/Seacoast area teens in grades 6-12.
The worship experience at NCC is open to all people of all ages. The sound of all members of our church family is a joyful noise for all and is welcomed by all. However, if baby needs a breather, there is a comfortable space to sit with your child located in the hall behind the sanctuary. Moms, Dads, and little ones are invited to go there during the service if they wish and will still be able to enjoy the sounds of the service through a speaker projecting the sounds of the service into that room.
Confirmation for youth in grades 9 – 12 will take place in May on the Day of Pentecost each year. If you are entering at least the 9th grade this fall and have not been confirmed, please let Pastor Patty know. September is the deadline for joining this group.
NCC provides critical services to support people in need in the Newmarket community and beyond. There are several ways to become part of the volunteer team!
- Helping out at the food pantry or thrift shop
- Serving dinner at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen
- Helping to load non-perishable food bags in support of the End 68 Hours of Hunger Program
- And more!!
There are plenty of opportunities to get connected! If you’re interested, contact the church office at 659-3892.
Working together to serve others for the glory of God is an amazing and life changing experience for all ages. Each year a minimum of two mission trips will be led from NCC offering both a national and international experience and all ages are welcome. In addition, youth from NCC are invited to participate in the United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth which is a unique mission opportunity for youth, young adults and their adult mentors. This program invites youth to participate with other church groups and individuals to combine skills, talents and resources to do God’s work. The group spends the week working together in nearby communities to meet home repair and maintenance needs for those unable to pay for or to physically do the work for themselves. The team will worship, learn from one another, share fellowship and build relationships with our neighbors in need of assistance as well as their communities.
